Russ Mantle, a quiet, humble man from Aldershot aged 82 has reached the incredible achievement of cycling one million miles. That's equivalent to riding to the moon and back, twice, with a couple of trips around the world added on for fun. When I asked about his cycling trips in countries across the globe, Russ' advice to me was simple. "Speak with the local tourist office, learn to fix your bicycle yourself and carry a packet of Polo's with you". His story is remarkable, but he's not too worried about the legacy he's leaving, just pleased to still be riding his bike every other day and carry out repairs in his garage.
